BT All Talk Timeline

The brief was to avoid the pitfalls of typical 'timeline' type applications and websites which provide a dull, linear experience with too much empahsis on scale and accuracy. The All Talk Timeline needed to be something that was more interactive and very usable, but reward experimentation and exploration. The timeline was designed in an isometric 3D environment which could be dragged around and zoomed into to encourage exploration.

Nodes of time and developments in communication can be explored to reveal the history of spoken language and how it's developed and mixed with other modal types of communication. Paths through key developments that facilitated huge expansions in the scale of communication can be plotted back from well known modern methods such as email, all the way back to simple mark making on a cave wall.
