Why a rocket?

The rocket has been part of our logo since Pixillion was born. The symbolism attached is rooted in our DNA. The rocket is pioneering, it explores new territories, it's the future. Producing a cut-out (make your own) rocket really appealed to us because it's a simple idea (like so many of the best ones). Whilst we breathe the digital space, we love print. We love how tactile and interactive being able to create something with your bare hands can be.

Watching people assemble their rockets, you can guarantee they'll be smiling. Our work is like that too. We create digital landscapes that pull people in and keep them there, compelled to explore. This is great news for our clients, because 'playing' inspires the kind of thinking that gives brands potency. In a throw-away, quick-fix, instant-gratification world, creating enduring experiences that hold attention are key. But the days of simply shouting louder than your competitors are long gone and it's now all about the subtle differentiators and the 'interestingness' of your message, not the sheer volume of it. And this is what grabs attention; what is more interesting than 'play'? It's not rocket science, but it opens minds to new possibilities, and takes you to places you didn't know existed.

Here's how we did it

We teamed up with local Illustrator Leah Hemming to produce our rocket - we're big fans of her work and style. The plan was for Leah to produce the base illustration under our art direction before we designed and artworked the finished item for printing.

A picture speaks a thousand words and hopefully our promotional rocket spoke many more. We'd love to tell you more about the way we work so get in touch today to discuss your "digital style flight check".

...we have lift-off. This is our story of how we created a clever little rocket that after lift-off, landed on the desks of brand new Pixillion friends across the UK. You see, we want to help businesses and brands grow and 'take-off' using digital media and design. Unlike Flash Gordon, who only had 14 hours to save the world, we're on a mission to save the world from poorly designed digital experiences one pixel at a time.
